The MLB Draft is coming fast and Sportsvival is here to help go over the top prospects in the 2025 MLB Draft.
Today we scout:
LHP- Kade Anderson
LSU
6’2” 179 lbs
Kade Anderson was born July 6, 2004 in Slidell, Louisiana.
Anderson attended St. Paul’s School in Covington, Louisiana. During his high school career he went 28-1 with a 0.22 ERA with 212 strikeouts. He did not pitch his senior year in 2022 after undergoing Tommy John Surgery.
He committed to Louisiana State University (LSU) to play baseball.
Anderson did not pitch in his first year at LSU in 2023 while recovering from his Tommy John Surgery. He returned in 2024 to pitch 18 games with nine starts. He went 4-2 with a 3.99 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 38 ⅓ innings.
He entered 2025 as the Tigers No. 1 pitcher, and has pitched like it. Anderson is 8-1 with a 3.54 ERA, striking out 145 hitters in only 89 innings. The 145 strikeouts lead NCAA Division 1 through conference tournament play.
What does the tape says:
Positives
Fastball with life that plays well high in the zone. He sits around 93-94 and has touched 97 mph
Four excellent pitches in his arsenal
Changeup has excellent sink and could become his best pitch
Has the frame to add muscle for physical projection
Negatives
Injury history (Tommy John Surgery)
Still raw as a starter at the college level
Throws strikes, but sometimes can spend too much time in the heart of the plate.
What the Vival sees:
Kade Anderson is one of the top college left-handed pitchers in the draft and should go in the top five. His injury history could be questioned, as well as his lack of collegiate starts.
Sportsvival sees Justin Steele as a good comparison, although we see Anderson with a higher ceiling.
