MLB Draft Profile- Aiva Arquette

The MLB Draft is coming fast and Sportsvival is here to help go over the top prospects in the 2025 MLB Draft.

Today we scout:

SS- Aiva Arquette (R/R)

Oregon State Beavers

6’5” 220 lbs

Aiva Arquette was born on October 17, 2003 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Arquette attended Saint Louis School and played both baseball and basketball. As a basketball player, Arquette was named the Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year as a senior in 2022.

The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted Arquette in the 18th round of the 2022 MLB Draft, but he did not sign and elected to play college baseball at the University of Washington.

During his freshman season for the Huskies in 2023, Arquette was hampered by injuries and only played 15 games with 12 starts. He finished the season hitting .244 with five home runs and 11 RBI in 56 plate appearances.

Arquette bounced back during his sophomore season in 2024. He started all 48 games , hitting .325 with 12 home runs and 36 RBI over 229 plate appearances.

After his sophomore season, Arquette entered the transfer portal and transferred to Oregon State University. After playing multiple infield positions at Washington, he primarily played shortstop with the Beavers in 2025. He has become one of the draft’s best prospects, hitting.352 with 18 home runs and 65 RBI in 59 games for Oregon State.

What the tape says:

Positives

  • Constantly puts barrel on the baseball

  • Bat speed

  • Plus power

  • Uses the whole field

  • Strong arm, fluid range at shortstop

Negatives

  • Sometimes looks like he forgets the strike zone and extends too much

  • Just learning the shortstop position…a betting man says he becomes a third baseman or an outfielder.

  • Can take longer to get to his swing…he has gotten better but has some unnecessary movement.

What Sportsvival sees:

Aiva Arquette could easily be the nation’s best hitter and his power is undeniable. Sportsvival does not see the 6’5” Arquette sticking at shortstop but his bat will play nicely at third base or as a corner outfielder.

After watching Arquette on tape, it is almost impossible not to be reminded of a young Cal Ripken Jr. Although we think Arquette will move positions, his bat could be solid for a long time.
