Steelers at. Bills Preview
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills square off in a week one battle in Orchard Park, NY. A nice quarterback matchup in this game between the elder Ben Roethlisberger and new blood Josh Allen. Buffalo is 2-0 in the past two seasons against Pittsburgh with basically the same squad.
Keys to Steelers Victory
It must start up front with the offensive line. The Steelers need to establish the running game early with rookie Najee Harris. The run game should open up the passing offense and give Roethlisberger a little time to hit his targets. If the offensive line struggles early look for Dionte Johnson to play a big part in the offense with quick slants. On defense the Steelers need to put a smart rush on Josh Allen. What I mean is they must pressure him in a way with containment, you can’t let Allen beat you with his legs. The Steelers secondary will have their hands filled with trying to stop Stefon Diggs. Pittsburgh needs to win the time of possession in this game.
Keys to Bills Victory
Opposite of Pittsburgh, I believe Buffalo comes out throwing against a subpar (on paper) Steelers secondary. The Bills need to find ways to get Josh Allen involved in running and keep the blitzing Steelers second guessing. On defense the d-line for Buffalo needs to overpower the young Steelers offensive line. Buffalo must keep Pittsburgh from striking early and getting some confidence in Ben and his receivers.
I think the game will stay relatively close until second half and Buffalo pulls away in the fourth. Look for Buffalo to win and cover the 6 ½ points.
