Brewers win 10th in a row with 7-1 win over Pirates

The Milwaukee Brewers extended their winning streak to 10 games with a 7–1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 11 at American Family Field. Brice Turang opened the scoring with his first career leadoff home run, and the Brewers piled on four more runs in the third inning. Christian Yelich launched his 22nd homer of the season, followed by RBI singles from Sal Frelick and Brandon Lockridge. An error by Pirates catcher Joey Bart capped the rally, giving Milwaukee a 5–1 lead that held firm the rest of the way.

Jose Quintana delivered a steady performance for Milwaukee, allowing just three hits and one run over six innings while striking out three. The only blemish came on Bart’s solo homer in the third. Grant Anderson and Shelby Miller combined to shut down the Pirates over the final three innings, preserving the win. Pirates starter Andrew Heaney struggled, surrendering six runs (five earned) on nine hits in four innings, dropping to 5–10 on the season.

Offensively, Milwaukee showed its depth and balance. Seven different players recorded hits, and the team finished with 11 total. The Brewers improved to 74–44, maintaining the best record in Major League Baseball and continuing a stretch in which they’ve gone 25–4 over their last 29 games. Pittsburgh, now 51–69, has dropped three straight and continues to struggle with run production and consistency at the plate.

Tuesday’s matchup on August 12 will feature a marquee pitching duel between Freddy Peralta (13–5, 3.03 ERA) for the Brewers and Paul Skenes (7–8, 1.94 ERA) for the Pirates. Peralta has been a steady force in Milwaukee’s rotation, while Skenes has emerged as Pittsburgh’s ace, posting elite strikeout numbers and a sub-2.00 ERA.
