Sportsvival had its hands full selecting the Week 10 Impact HVAC Player of the Week, but this time, the honor goes to a trio that simply couldn’t be separated. In a statement win over Penn State, Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin and wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate delivered a performance so dominant, so synchronized, that it demanded collective recognition.
Sayin was surgical from the pocket, completing 20 of 23 passes for 316 yards and four touchdowns. His poise and precision were matched by the elite talent on the receiving end. Jeremiah Smith, one of the most feared vertical threats in the country, reeled in six catches for 123 yards and two scores. Carnell Tate, equally dangerous, added five receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his route-running mastery and yards-after-catch explosiveness.
Ohio State, ranked No. 1 in Sportsvival’s polls since the preseason, looked every bit the part. The Buckeyes’ offensive rhythm was unstoppable, and the Sayin-Smith-Tate connection turned a top-10 showdown into a showcase of dominance. Whether it was third-down conversions, red zone execution, or field-stretching bombs, this trio made Penn State’s defense look outmatched from start to finish.
Finalists Who Just Missed the Cut:
Darian Mensah (QB, Duke): Went 27-of-41 for 361 yards and four touchdowns in a thrilling win over Clemson. Mensah’s command and clutch throws kept Duke’s offense humming.
Colin Simmons (DE, Texas): Posted 5 tackles, 1 sack, 7 pressures, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Simmons was a disruptive force all game long as the Longhorns held on to beat Vanderbilt.
Caleb Hawkins (RB, North Texas): Exploded for 197 rushing yards and four touchdowns, slicing through the Navy defense all day long.
Danny Scudero (WR, San Jose State): Hauled in 7 receptions for 215 yards and two touchdowns, torching the secondary with deep-ball prowess.
Kam Robinson (LB, Virginia): Recorded 6 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and a pick-six, flipping momentum with a game-changing defensive score.
Each of these players delivered eye-popping stat lines and game-altering moments, but the Buckeye trio’s synergy, efficiency, and impact in a marquee matchup made them impossible to overlook. Week 10 belonged to Sayin, Smith, and Tate, a trio that continues to fuel Ohio State’s championship march.
