Week 5 Team's on the bye week

The NFL is starting to give some bye weeks and Sportsvival will quickly summarize each team on bye: what’s gone right, what’s gone wrong, key injuries and timelines, and the team’s fantasy star through Week 4. Here is a look at the four teams who are off during week 5 of the NFL season,

Atlanta Falcons- (2-2)

What’s gone right:

  • MIchael Penix Jr. had a breakout game in week 4 with 300+ passing yards in a win over Washington.

  • Bijan Robinson is 5th in the NFL in rushing yards (314)

  • Defense ranks 2nd in passing yards allowed and hasn’t given up 300+ total yards in any game.

What's gone wrong:

  • Passing game inconsistency: outside of Drake London, receivers have underperformed.

  • Offensive rhythm has been uneven, especially in losses.

Injuries:

  • CB- A.J. Terrell (hamstring) missed week 4 and is expected back after the bye.

  • WR-Darnell Mooney (hamstring) is questionable but expected to return in week 6.

  • RB- Nathan Carter, WR-KhaDarel Hodge and CB-Natrone Brooks are also dealing with injuries.

  • S- Jordan Fuller, OT-Kaleb McGary, and LB-Bralen Trice are in IR.

Top Fantasy Performer:

  • RB-Bijan Robinson- 314 yards rushing 1-TD, 18-reception, 270 yards, 1-TD

Chicago Bears (2-2)

What’s gone right:

  • QB-Caleb Williams and WR- Rome Odunze have shown a star connection.

  • Two straight wins after an 0-2 start, including a comeback win over the Raiders.

What’s gone wrong:

  • Run defense is the worst in the NFL (164.5 yards/game)

  • Pass rush is weak (just 5 sacks in 4 games)

  • Offensive line has underperformed in the run game.

Injuries

  • CB-Kyler Gordon, DT-Grady Jarrett, LB-T.J. Edwards, OT-Darnell Wright and TE-Colston Loveland are all questionable for week 6.

  • CB- Jaylon Johnson (groin) is on IR until at least week 10.

  • OT- Kiram Amegadjie, DE-Austin Booker, RB-Travis Homer, and LB-Amen Ogbongbemiga are also on the IR.

Top Fantasy Performer:

  • WR- Rome Odunze- 20 receptions, 296 yards, 5-TD

Green Bay Packers (2-1-1)

What’s gone right:

  • Wins over Detroit and Washington

  • Jordan Love has shown flashes of leadership and playmaking ability.

What went wrong:

  • Defense gave up 436 yards in a 40-40 tie vs. Dallas

  • Offensive line injuries have disrupted the rhythm of the offense.

  • Lack of takeaways (just 2 in 4 games)

Injuries:

  • RT- Zach Tom (oblique), G-Aaron Banks (groin), and DT-Devonte Wyatt (knee) missed week 4.

  • WR- Jayden Reed (collarbone/foot) in on IR until week 9.

  • WR- Christian Watson (ACL) is on PUP, could be activated for week 6.

  • TE- Tucker Kraft, OT-Anthony Belton are also suffering from injuries.

Top Fantasy Performer:

  • RB- Josh Jacobs- 266 yards rushing, 4-TD, 10 receptions for 119 yards.

Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1)

What’s gone right:

  • Leading the AFC North

  • QB- Aaron Rodgers has finally stabilized the offense.

  • Defense has forced 10 turnovers in 4 games.

What’s gone wrong:

  • Defense is allowing 382 yards/game

  • Passing game lacks explosiveness (Rodgers averaging just 2.1 yards per attempt)

  • Run game has been inconsistent

Injuries:

  • RB- Jaylen Warren (knee) missed week 4 with a minor sprain but should return week 6

  • WR- Calvin Austin (shoulder) was hospitalized in Dublin and is questionable for week 6

  • CB- Joey Porter (hamstring), LB- Alex Highsmith (ankle), and CB- Cory Trice (hamstring) are also banged up.

  • TE- Donald Parham Jr., DT-Dean Lowry, and LB- Malik Harrison on the IR.

Top Fantasy Performer:

  • WR- D.K. Metcalf- 15 receptions, 261 yards, 3-TD
