Impact HVAC Player of the Week- Sawyer Robertson-Baylor

In a weekend defined by high-stakes offense, Baylor’s redshirt senior quarterback Sawyer Robertson claimed the Impact HVAC Player of the Week honor. Facing No. 17 SMU, Robertson orchestrated a 48–45 double-overtime victory, completing 34 of 50 passes for 440 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. His late-game composure erased a 14-point deficit, turning SMU’s defensive stands into a showcase for his arm strength and decision-making.

Through two games, Robertson has thrown for 859 yards and seven touchdowns, completing 62.2 percent of his attempts and averaging 429.5 yards per game. His back-to-back 400-yard performances mark the first time a Big 12 signal-caller has opened a season with consecutive 400-yard efforts since Patrick Mahomes in 2016. With a passer rating north of 159, he’s paced Baylor to the top of the national passing leaderboard.

Baylor’s passing attack has thrived around Robertson’s pinpoint accuracy. Josh Cameron hauled in 9 receptions for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Ashtyn Hawkins added 10 catches for 145 yards. Their ability to work in tandem with Robertson on quick-strike routes and third-down conversions has turned Baylor’s offense into a consistent threat deep and short.

Several other players narrowly missed this week’s award with standout individual efforts:

  • Ty Simpson (QB, Alabama vs. UL Monroe): 17-for-17 passing, 226 yards, 3 passing TDs; added a rushing TD

  • Ahmad Hardy (RB, Missouri vs. Kansas): 112 rushing yards, 1 TD on 26 carries

  • Beau Pribula (QB, Missouri vs. Kansas): 30-of-39 passing, 334 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs

  • Arch Manning (QB, Texas vs. San Jose State) :19-of-30 passing, 295 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT.

Despite these electric performances, Robertson’s ability to bring Baylor back against a strong SMU team wins this week's award.
