An athletic blindside protector with powerful hands, Jordan Seaton has the tools to become a cornerstone on an NFL offensive line.

Class: Junior

Height/Weight: 6-foot-5, 311 pounds

Hometown: Washington, D.C.

High School: IMG Academy (Florida)

NFL Draft Eligibility: 2027

BACKGROUND AND RECRUIT PROFILE

Jordan Seaton arrived in college football with expectations that followed him every time he stepped onto the field. A consensus five-star recruit and the top offensive tackle in the 2024 recruiting class, he possessed the size, movement skills and physical potential that programs build recruiting classes around.

Seaton played his first three high school seasons at St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C., before transferring to IMG Academy for his senior year. He gained experience at guard and tackle, then helped IMG finish unbeaten at 10-0. His development made him one of the most coveted offensive linemen in the country.

He chose Colorado and immediately earned responsibility protecting the quarterback’s blind side. After two seasons in Boulder, he transferred to LSU, bringing an established starting background into the SEC.

COLLEGE CAREER

Seaton’s freshman season at Colorado provided an early indication that his recruiting reputation had substance. He started all 13 games at left tackle in 2024, establishing a school record for starts by a true freshman while earning Freshman All-America recognition.

Protecting Shedeur Sanders in an offense featuring Travis Hunter gave Seaton extensive experience in a demanding passing attack. Across 612 pass-blocking opportunities, he surrendered three sacks. He did not allow a sack in 11 of Colorado’s 13 games, including a stretch of 10 consecutive contests.

In 2025, Seaton started Colorado’s first nine games before an injury sidelined him for the final three. He earned second-team All-Big 12 honors, allowing one sack across 561 offensive snaps. He entered LSU with 22 career starts at left tackle.

For an offensive tackle, those early repetitions matter. Seaton has experience handling the responsibility of protecting the edge while defenses know the offense wants to throw.

2026 SEASON

Seaton’s move to LSU places his development under a different spotlight. Playing in Lane Kiffin’s offense brings the responsibility of protecting quarterback Sam Leavitt while helping establish dependable production on the ground.

His preparation included a substantial change in conditioning. After arriving at approximately 330 pounds, Seaton worked down to roughly 307 while reducing his body fat. That commitment gives evaluators another piece of his background to consider: a willingness to change his habits to meet the demands of his position.

For Sportsvival, the central question in his 2026 evaluation is consistency. Seaton has already demonstrated the movement and strength to handle difficult assignments. His next step is making his technique dependable throughout a game, particularly when defenders change their approach after the snap.

WHAT SPORTSVIVAL LIKES

  • Movement skills and pass-protection potential: Seaton’s athleticism is the foundation of his appeal. He can gain ground in his pass set, move laterally and position himself against rushers attacking the outside edge. Those traits give him a strong starting point for remaining at left tackle in the NFL.

  • Strong hands and an effective anchor: Once Seaton establishes his grip, defenders can struggle to disengage. He also shows the ability to settle against power and prevent a bull rush from collapsing the pocket. The combination gives him answers against different styles of pass rusher.

  • Ability to work in space: Seaton moves comfortably beyond his initial alignment. His athleticism allows him to climb toward linebackers and reach blocks away from the line of scrimmage, creating possibilities for an offense that asks its tackles to move.

  • Physical approach: There is force behind his game. Seaton has the strength to control contact and the temperament to finish blocks. Our projection is that better technical consistency can help him turn those flashes into more dependable production.

AREAS SEATON CAN IMPROVE

  • More precise hand placement: Seaton’s grip strength is valuable, but his initial strike needs greater accuracy. Missing that first contact gives a defender an opportunity to attack his chest or work around his hands.

  • Balance through contact: He can carry too much weight forward, particularly when trying to generate movement in the running game. That leaves him vulnerable to defenders who pull him off balance and disengage.

  • Discipline in his pass sets: Seaton can commit too heavily toward the inside, creating room for a rusher to attack his outside shoulder. Keeping his feet and upper body coordinated will help him protect against a defender’s second move.

  • Consistent run-game execution: Sportsvival wants to see his athleticism and strength produce sustained blocks more regularly. Reaching the assignment is one part of the job; maintaining leverage and controlling the defender through the finish will determine how complete a tackle he becomes.

NFL COMPARISON

Christian Darrisaw

Darrisaw is a useful stylistic comparison for Seaton’s combination of movement, hand strength and ability to anchor against power. Seaton has the tools to develop into a tackle who can protect the edge and contribute in a moving running game.

Our comparison describes the type of player Seaton could become. Reaching that level will require more reliable hand placement, balance and execution against counters.

2027 NFL DRAFT PROJECTION

Sportsvival Projection: First round, with top-10 potential.

Seaton plays a premium position and brings substantial starting experience into his first year of draft eligibility. His athletic traits give him a realistic path toward becoming one of the first offensive tackles selected.

The difference between a first-round prospect and a top-10 selection will come down to how confidently teams project his consistency. If his pass protection becomes more technically dependable and his run blocking develops alongside it, his ceiling is high.

Medical evaluations will also be part of the process following the injury that ended his 2025 season. Our projection remains conditional on his continued development, health and decision to enter the draft.

SPORTSVIVAL FINAL TAKE

Quarterbacks receive the headlines, but keeping them upright starts with players who can survive difficult assignments on the outside. Jordan Seaton has the athletic foundation, strength and experience to become an important part of that protection.

What makes him intriguing is how much room remains for growth. His hands can control defenders, his feet can put him in position and his anchor can hold up against power. Bringing those pieces together consistently is the next step.

Sportsvival sees a potential long-term starting left tackle with first-round value. If Seaton sharpens the details of his game, he has the upside to become a player an NFL team builds its offensive line around.

Jordan Seaton: An athletic blindside protector with first-round tools and the potential to become a franchise left tackle.
